"I have NEVER heard of a VAGINAL STEAM until now!" exclaimed Rachel Hollis, renowned Public Speaker and Author of the best selling books "Girl Wash Your Face" and "Girl Stop Apologizing"
With a room full of Fitness Gurus and Wellness business owners, I had the great pleasure of exposing and explaining the magical wonders of what a Vaginal Steam was to the participants at the recent MindBody BOLD Conference in Anaheim, CA this past weekend. With approximately 20,000 participants at the conference, MindBody has set the precedence for supporting and providing resources for the best of the best in the Health & Wellness arena.
Yet, after taking a poll in the audience, only a small handful had ever heard of the term. The majority of the audience, including Rachel Hollis, were blown away that such a "thing" even existed, more less what" it" was used for.
So, here's the skinny on what a vaginal steam, commonly known as a "v-steam" or in some circles a "yoni steam" really is.
A vaginal steam is an ancient therapeutic treatment that has been around way longer than you and I! In countries across the globe, this healing modality uses medicinal herbs to DETOXIFY, CLEANSE, TIGHTEN, STRENGTHEN & BALANCE your precious womb space.
At Sultana Steam, the herbs are customized specifically for each woman's individual and specific needs. Upon determining the proper herb blend, the herbs are then boiled (in the steam pot) and release volatile oils into the water. As the woman comfortably sits on the steam seat, (imagine, a seat with an opening in the top) the herbs are placed at a safe distance under her body so that the steam is able to permeate the cell membranes, get into the blood stream, and bring a plethora of benefits.
Let's dispel the myths and the ignorance behind this ancient practice and discuss what a vaginal steam is NOT!
1) A vaginal steam is not INVASIVE! There is absolutely nothing being placed inside your precious vagina during this treatment.
2) A vaginal steam DOES NOT hurt! It is a relaxing and therapeutic treatment designed for ALL women.
3) A vaginal steam is not solely for cosmetic purposes. While some of the benefits do include tightening and strengthening-that's only the beginning!
Have you ever experienced a Vaginal Steam? What was the experience like? If you haven't had one yet-would you?

"My vagina is NOT just a sheath or holder for a penis!"
So... is it just me or do you ever notice that when people mention or even say the word " vagina" they whisper it?
Like it's some secret term or a" hush-hush thing" that you aren't supposed to speak out loud?
Yet, there are approximately 168 MILLION women in the United States alone, with guess what?! A VAGINA!
Sultana Speaks is a platform where women can freely discuss their vagina and the myriad of issues therein. A place where women can get answers to some of their most intimate concerns regarding feminine care and hygiene- and not feel ashamed, embarrassed or judged.
The purpose of Sultana Speaks is to INTRODUCE, INFORM, INFLUENCE and IMPACT women by having real conversations about real topics concerning our most intimate area- our VAGINA! So, let's start the conversation!
So, why the whispering when we say or use the word vagina? Have we been programmed to think or feel this way?
Well, let's start with the etymology of the word. The word "vagina' is derived from Latin and literally means " a sheath or scabbard for a sword." Sounds creepy huh? Well, by association the term "Gladius "(sword) was the common term for a "penis." So, in short the general understanding of the term vagina was that it was a sheath for a penis! Ummm...NOT!
I don't know about you, but my vagina is NOT just a sheath or holder for a penis! The appropriate term for vagina and it's purpose is
"yoni" a Sanskrit word that means " sacred place" or "womb". Doesn't that sound much more inviting of a term?
Our vagina is a sacred place. The center of our very being. An area of our body that is to be respected, honored and cared for. A region that has the ability to bring life and bring pleasure.. So, the next time you find yourself whispering about such an amazing part of your body... think again!
How do you feel when you say the word vagina? Does it make you feel ashamed? Dirty? Are you comfortable saying vagina without whispering?
